The Southwest life as it is popularly called, is the experience of living in the southwestern region of the U.S. This lifestyle has a charm all its own. If you are considering a move to the southwest, read this article to learn about the different areas and their benefits.
The southwestern region is known for its diversity. It has everything – mountains, lakes, deserts, grasslands, a wide variety of flora and fauna, and more. The urban area here is highly developed and ultramodern whereas the rural area is rustic to the core and simple. So, whether you love the hustle and bustle of the city life or the peace and quiet of the country life, you will enjoy your life in this region.
Southwest Life in Four States
The region consists of four states – Arizona, Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico. Irrespective of the state you choose to live in, I can guarantee you that you will find Southwestern life really interesting.
Arizona – One of the most important things that attract people to Arizona is its weather. It has warm winters, hot summers, and the air is really dry. This type of weather is a blessing for people who suffer from asthma. Also, this type of weather is perfect for old people who cannot live in very cold areas as the cold weather can take its toll on their joints. Golfing is a huge attraction here.
Oklahoma – There is so much you can do here – go bear hunting, cheer the Sooners, watch the 4th of July’s fireworks in Poteau, enjoy the Poteau balloon festival, go sightseeing, watch an MMA bout, dance to the tunes of the local music festivals, and much more.
Texas – Texas in a way symbolizes southwest life at its very best. The state, not unlike the heart of the people here, is big and warm. The famous catchphrase ‘everything is bigger in Texas’ could not be any truer. The state is gifted with plenty of natural resources and is one of the richest states in the country. Most importantly, the taxes here are among the lowest in the country. With a large number of immigrants and considerable Spanish and Mexican influences, Texas is considered the melting pot of different cultures from around the world.
New Mexico – Known popularly as the Land of Enchantment, New Mexico is a place where you get to enjoy the joys of Southwestern life thoroughly. The amazing landscapes, natural wonders, affable people, and reasonable real estate prices have made this state a favorite for everyone.
